Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday called on the voters to rally behind his party in the general elections.
Addressing the public gathering in Upper Dir, Bhutto-Zardari lamented: ‘’Now a days, the masses are facing severe economic hardships. Inflation has reached a record level. The country is witnessing unemployment and poverty.”
He took a jibe at the government, saying, ‘’The rulers of Islamabad are having no concern with the masses. They are unaware of the difficulties the masses are facing.”

Bhutto-Zardari stressed the need for indulging in politics with a “renewed vision’’.
He recalled the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) tenure, saying, “We had backed the PDM in a bid to steer the country out of the economic crisis. We were of the view that our allies want to see the supremacy of the vote and parliament.’’
‘’We had that political thinking that the PDM-led government would uplift democracy,’’ Bhutto-Zardari said.

Speaking about the elections, Bhutto-Zardari hoped that they would be held in the country on February 8.
Bhutto-Zardari lashed out at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). ‘’Have the PTI and PML-N provided relief to the masses?”
PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had vowed to address the masses’ problems.
Addressing the workers’ convention in Abbottabad, Bhutto-Zardari said, ‘’The PPP has started its visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. I would like to express my gratitude to the elders, brothers, and sisters for coming in large numbers.’’
He took a swipe at the political opponents, saying the parties were indulged in old politics. The PPP cannot compete with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Our concern is to address the problems faced by the people in line with poverty, unemployment, and inflation.
Recalling the past contributions made by his party, Bhutto-Zardari said: ‘’Everybody is familiar with the way Asif Ali Zardari delivered between 2008 and 2013. The PPP had introduced the 18th Amendment and the NFC Award. These are the achievements of the PPP that made us proud.’’
