Sher Afzal Marwat, legal representative of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday while reacting to Khawar Maneka’s, the ex-husband of former first lady Bushra Bibi, recent statement, conveyed the party chairman Imran Khan’s deep dismay over Khawar Maneka’s remarks, labeling it as erroneous.
On Monday, in an exclusive interview, Maneka disclosed the intricate details of the alleged affair that led to the dissolution of his family life. He claimed that the meetings between Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi began with the facilitation of Bushra’s sister, Maryam Wattoo, during PTI sit-ins in Islamabad.
Despite warnings from Maneka’s mother, who deemed Imran Khan unsuitable, the two reportedly started talking secretly on the phone at night. Farah Gogi, at the request of Imran Khan, allegedly provided Bushra with a secret phone number, leading to clandestine conversations between the two.
According to Maneka, Imran Khan would visit their home without permission, causing distress in the household. He claimed to have discovered Bushra’s secret meetings with Imran Khan, leading to a confrontation where he reportedly escorted Imran Khan out of the house with the help of a servant.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Sher Afzal Marwat echoed the chairman's sentiments, affirming that the chairman labeled Khawar Manika's remarks as untrue.
He commented on the ongoing situation, emphasizing a shift away from democracy towards deterioration. He underscored that the PTI faces unwarranted disruptions, portraying unjust interference in the leaders’ domestic matters.
Marwat went on to disclose the PTI chairman’s strong disapproval and frustration regarding Ali Awan’s decision to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
