Nationwide anti-polio campaign has launched in Pakistan. The campaign, which commenced today, is set to administer anti-polio drops to children aged up to five years old.
In the province of Punjab, dedicated teams have been assembled to deliver anti-polio vaccines to a staggering 22 million children.
This extensive effort reflects the commitment to ensuring the well-being of the youngest members of society.
Meanwhile, in Sindh, a workforce of more than eighty thousand individuals is gearing up to go door-to-door, reaching out to over ten million children.
This approach ensures that even in the most remote areas, children have access to the vital protection against the crippling effects of polio.
Across the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the campaign targets over seven point four million and 2.5 million children, respectively.
These efforts are crucial in the collective mission to create a polio-free Pakistan.
Despite these efforts, challenges persist. On November 11, the Ministry of Health reported the fifth polio case this year.
A 31-month-old child in Karachi was diagnosed with polio, highlighting the urgent need for continued vigilance in the fight against this preventable disease.
