Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that his party is all prepared even if elections are held tomorrow.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman's statement that his party is ready for elections comes days after Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari hinted that his party's former allies are avoiding the polls.
In an interview on Geo News programme "Capital Talk" aired on Tuesday, he said that his party is ready to hold elections in 90 days and that they are not running away from the polls.
He said that President Arif Alvi does not have the constitutional authority to give the date of elections. He said that if Alvi gives the date of the polls, it would be unconstitutional.
JUI-F chief also said that he does not trust former defence minister Pervez Khattak and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister Mahmood Khan.
He termed both of them 'unreliable'.
Maulana Fazl ruled out the possibility of an electoral alliance with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Parliamentarians in KP and with PPP in Sindh.
However, he said that there is a possibility of an alliance with the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Muttahida Qaumi Movement - Pakistan (MQM-P) and Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) in Sindh.
He said that they were already in contact with these parties.
