The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has officially lodged a reference on Friday against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief in connection with a £190 million scandal.
The reference was filed by the NAB Rawalpindi circle at the accountability court in Islamabad.The PTI chief, Shahzad Akbar, Bushra Bibi, Farah Gogi and Zulfi Bukhari had been nominated as the accused.
Deputy Prosecutor General Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, along with investigation officer Mian Umar Nadeem, filed the reference.
The accountability court's registrar office has now commenced the rigorous examination of the filed reference.
On the other side, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had submitted a post-arrest bail petition on Thursday with the accountability court of Islamabad in the 190-million-pound scandal case.

The NAB chairman and director general have been made parties in the petition that was submitted on behalf of Imran Khan through lawyers Latif Khosa, Intezar Panjotha and Ali Ijaz.
Accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir issued notices to the parties concerned.
The petition maintains that the petitioner has been a former prime minister and a well-known cricketer, while cases are being filed against him on political grounds and his reputation was being damaged.
