Overseas Pakistanis no longer have to navigate the bureaucratic maze of physical visits and endless paperwork to grant Power of Attorney (PoA) back home. The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a user-friendly digital PoA service.
This initiative removes the geographical barrier, allowing anyone with a valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), or Pakistan Origin Card (POC) to grant PoA to individuals residing in Pakistan.
The entire process can be completed in just six easy steps.
- Be an overseas Pakistani.
- Possess valid ID documents for yourself, your attorney, and any witnesses (CNIC/NICOP/POC).
- Have a valid email address, contact number, and mailing address outside Pakistan.
Next, gather your biometric data (fingerprints) for yourself and two witnesses, and get ready for a quick online payment using your credit or debit card.
Scan a copy of the original PoA, complete with signatures, thumb impressions, and your photo.
Providing accurate details for your attorney and witnesses is crucial.
If you're dealing with international partners, remember that foreigners need to visit the relevant Pakistani Mission Abroad for final attestation after obtaining approval from their local authorities.
