The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) announced on Tuesday to hold the public gathering at Nishtar Park in Karachi on December 24 (Sunday).
Expressing his thoughts in Karachi, IPP leader Mahmood Baqi Moulvi said: "At one stage, the Nishtar Park was a political stronghold. We will stage the proceedings from the Nishtar Park."
He recalled the events that transpired on May 9, asserting, "I had said it before May 8 that any mistakes can cause harm to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) or take the country to civil war."
– Malik Samandar Khan Kasi joins IPP –
Senior politician Malik Samandar Khan Kasi on Tuesday decided to join the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
Exprising his thoughts in Quetta, Kasi took a swipe at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, "The PTI had harmed itself following the events that transpired on May 9. Those who were involved in the May 9 attacks should be brought to justice."
He expressed his confidence in IPP bigwigs, saying, "Jahangir Khan Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan can steer the country out of the crisis."

Kasi schooled the political opponents, stating, "The politicians merely staged the politics over the matters in line with the missing persons."
"We will confront the challenges posed by inflation and unemployment in the country," Kasi said.
– IPP denounces PTI intra-party polls –
Few days back, the IPP denounced the intra-party polls of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Expressing her thoughts, Firdous hoped the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will take notice of the intra-party polls. "The PTI intra-polls are against the constitution and law," Firdous added.
"The ECP should take strict action against the PTI over the intra-party polls," she said.
Firdous talked about the appointment of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan as the PTI chairman. "The appointment of Barrister Gohar as the PTI chief without any process is against the party's manifesto and democratic traditions," she lamented.
Firdous said, "It is unacceptable to see the holding of the so-called PTI intra-party polls, which reflects the worst example of dictatorship."
