Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday hoped that his party will win the general elections on February 8.
Addressing the PPP workers' convention in Timergara city, Lower Dir, the former foreign minister credited the masses for powering the PPP through the power of vote. Bhutto-Zardari recounted the contributions made by the PPP. "The PPP had led the country to spearhead the Islamic world,” he said.
He heaped praise on PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari. “Asif Ali Zardari had given Khyber Pakhtunkhwa its identity. He restored the 1973 Constitution in the form of the 18th Amendment.”
Bhutto-Zardari had also credited Zardari for “launching” the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). "Asif Zardari wants to launch more development projects for you [masses]," said Bhutto-Zardari.
– Time to introduce new style of politics –
Bhutto-Zardari said on Saturday that there was a dire need to introduce a new style of politics.
Addressing the party workers in Quetta, the former foreign minister said, "In 2018, it was said that that particular leader is an angle and the rest of them are opposite. Now in this year, efforts are underway to portray somebody else as an angle."
"The politics revolving around hatred are not going to be great for our country," Bhutto-Zardari said.
He took a dig at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, "The deposed premier wanted to convert all the institutions of the state into the Tiger Force."
