In view of the upcoming general elections in the country, slated for February 8, the leaves of all government officials in Islamabad have been cancelled till the electoral exercise is complete.
A ban has been imposed on the leaves of government officials in the federal capital until the February general elections.
In this regard, the Islamabad deputy commissioner has issued an order on the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
As per the order, sick leaves will be granted only in maternity cases or with the permission of a medical officer.
Officials of the federal education system and subordinate institutions have been directed not to leave the city. The officers and officials should not leave the capital during winter vacation, according to the deputy commissioner’s instructions.
The officials have been directed to remain present at the station of posting to attend the training of polling staff, the DC says.
The order has also asked the officials to follow the instructions of the Election Commission of Pakistan in letter and spirit.
