Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Abdul Aleem Khan submitted on Friday the nomination papers from five provincial and national assembly seats.
Abdul Aleem Khan will contest elections from NA-117 Lahore, NA-119 Lahore, and NA-147 Khanewal. He will also contest elections for two provincial seats – PP-149 Lahore and PP-209 Khanewal.
The legal team had submitted the IPP president’s nomination papers.

The deadlock between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) existed ahead of the general elections.

Sources divulged on Friday that the IPP was of the view to go for the seat adjustment on its own list. PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had not yet refused the IPP leadership in this regard. The PML-N had sent the message to the IPP leadership to review the lists.
The PML-N had given assurances to the IPP to go for the seat adjustment in Lahore. The final decision had not been taken as no meeting had taken place between Nawaz Sharif and the IPP leadership.
