Former federal minister Sumaira Malik on Friday decided against contesting the upcoming elections, slated to happen on February 8.
Sumaira was the candidate from NA-87. She had announced to contest elections as an independent candidate after not getting the ticket from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
– Maryam Nawaz submits party tickets from NA-119, PP-159 –
Separately, PML-N Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz submitted the nomination papers from NA-119 and PP-159 on Friday.
Maryam Nawaz’s political secretary had submitted the party tickets to the returning officer (RO).
The PML-N stalwart had withdrawn the nomination papers from PP-160. Maryam Nawaz’s legal team had withdrawn her nomination papers from the returning officer (RO).
According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until 9:00 pm.
