Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain has been handed a two-year ban from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for breaching the Anti-Corruption Code.
The 32-year-old cricketer, who admitted to three charges brought against him, will serve a two-year complete ban, with six months suspended.
Hossain's ban stems from his failure to disclose the receipt of a gift with a value exceeding $750, specifically a new iPhone 12, to the Designated Anti-Corruption Official. This admission was found to violate Article 2.4.3 of the Anti-Corruption Code.

Additionally, he breached Article 2.4.4 by withholding full details regarding an approach or invitation he received to engage in corrupt conduct via the gifted iPhone 12. The charge sheet also highlighted his refusal to cooperate with the anti-corruption official's investigation without compelling justification, thus violating Article 2.4.6 of the Code.
The ban, effective immediately, leaves Hossain sidelined from the cricketing arena until April 7, 2025. However, the cricketer has the opportunity to resume international cricket sooner if he satisfies the conditions outlined in the suspended part of the sanction.
Nasir Hossain, who represented Bangladesh in 115 matches across formats between 2011 and 2018, scoring 2695 runs and taking 39 wickets, has since focused on the domestic circuit. His recent appearance in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League for Prime Bank Cricket Club has now been overshadowed by this controversy.
