The journey of Team Director Muhammad Hafeez with the national cricket team has reportedly reached its conclusion, according to sources.
Hafeez’s contract, which was set to expire on December 15, allowed him to fulfill his duties until the fifth match against New Zealand tomorrow.
Sources indicate that Zaka Ashraf, the former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), had been restricted from offering long-term contracts to coaches. Consequently, upon Muhammad Hafeez’s return to Pakistan, the PCB is expected to convey a message to him, requesting not to continue in the role of team director.
It is anticipated that various coaches and officials appointed during the Zaka Ashraf era will also tender their resignations in the near future, marking a transition in the leadership and management of the national cricket team. The PCB is poised for changes as it navigates a new direction for the team's coaching and management staff.
