An International Monitory Fund (IMF) said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and PML-N supported the objectives and policies of the loan program in writing.
The PTI also supported the current loan program in July last year. The international lender in a statement regarding political assurances from major political parties in Pakistan has come out.
According to the document, IMF officials held meetings with representatives of three major political parties in July 2023 to to get political parties' assurance on the loan programme.
As per IMF, PPP and PMLN supported the loan program in writing, calling it important for economic stability.
According to the IMF, the PTI had also supported the current loan program in July last year, and later stated that transparent elections were necessary for the implementation of the program.
“Both parties called the loan program important for economic stability,” the IMF said.
