Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has voiced serious concerns regarding the alleged illegal marriage case involving the PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
Speaking to reporters outside Adiala Jail, he expressed apprehension that the verdict in the marriage case, potentially resulting in sentencing for the PTI founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi.
He asserted that the court proceedings seemed to be under undue pressure, with lawyers not being granted fair opportunities to present their case.
The PTI leader highlighted the unprecedented nature of the trial, emphasizing that such a legal process had no precedent in Pakistan's history. He underscored the judiciary's vital role as the guardian of people's rights and protections.
Furthermore, Barrister Khan raised concerns about the implications of recent judgments on the fairness of upcoming elections. He warned that if the current trend in legal rulings continued, it could cast doubt on the integrity of the elections scheduled for February 8.
