Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has claimed that PTI will form governments in federal, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and alleged that his party's candidates are being defeated by stopping Elections 2024 results.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar said, "Alhamdulillah, the elections were peaceful and today is a very important day in democratic history." We will protest tomorrow outside those RO offices, who have not announced result," Barrister Gohar stated.
Barrister Gohar said that the Election Commission should immediately announce all results. The responsibility of the ECP was to announce the results by 2 am, but the results were not announced until 10 am. Reasons for not announcing the results by 2 am should be explained.
Adhoc Chairman PTI said, "We will form the government in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Federal, and the announcement of the Chief Minister's KP will be made in two days. Nawaz Sharif does not have a majority in the NA, but he still considers himself the Prime Minister."
He said, "We will continue to struggle for the rights of the people, and we will present some facts to you. At the moment, PTI has a lead of 170 seats, and legal avenues will be pursued regarding what happened with results."
"We have filed three petitions in the Supreme Court and seven petitions in the High Court. We kept insisting that the elections be held within ninety days after the NA was dissolved, the mandate was being suppressed. Finally, the Supreme Court intervened and gave a date for the elections," he added. "We were given assurance that we would get a level playing field, but everyone saw that we got striped off of our election symbol. Cases against us continued to be filed."
"Khan Sahab, who is in jail, said we won't let slavery happen. Now the whole situation is in front of you," he added.
He said, "We request that the people's mandate must be accepted. PTI will decide who will be the Prime Minister. We will bring a peoples' Chief Minister in Punjab. We have a clear lead, and we have the right to form government in NA. Tomorrow, there will be a peaceful protest outside the RO offices who do not announce the election results, by holding back the results, our candidates are being defeated."
Barrister Gohar said, "The decision of the Prime Minister will be made in two days. Nawaz Sharif does not even have 50 seats. We don't want any confrontation, nor do we want to fight. An attempt was made for us to boycott elections. We were almost pushed out of the electoral process."
He said, "The one who gets the majority should have their mandate accepted. We salute the victory of PTI in Punjab on behalf of the people."
With winning reserved seats in mind, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Saturday that the party was set to form an alliance with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) after the PTI-backed independent candidates clinched victory in 100 National Assembly seats in the February 8 general elections.
He said: If PTI's independents join MWM, they can take a share of the further 70 unelected seats reserved for women and religious minorities, which are allocated according to party performance in the contested vote."
Claiming that as per form 45, PTI had so far won 170 seats in the National Assembly (NA), Gohar Ali Khan said that besides Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the party would also form governments at Center and the Punjab.
