Pakistan's tennis champ Aisam-ul-Haq on Saturday emerged victorious in the recent election held at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) headquarters in Islamabad, securing the position of president.
In a closely contested battle, he defeated his opponent, Major General (retd) Asghar Nawaz, with a narrow margin of 8–7.
This historic win marks Aisam-ul-Haq as the first active tennis player to assume the presidency of the PTF.
His election brings a unique perspective to the leadership, blending his on-court experience with administrative responsibilities.
Aisam's term as president is set for four years, succeeding Salim Saifullah Khan in this significant role.
Joining Aisam in the leadership team are Lt. Col. (retd) Ziauddin Tufail, who was elected as the secretary, and Arif Qureshi, who assumes the role of treasurer.
Together, they are poised to contribute to the development and advancement of tennis in Pakistan under the new leadership of the PTF.
