A Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker, Tayyaba Raja, who was arrested in the Jinnah House arson case, has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail following a decision by a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court.
A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court granted her bail, bringing an end to her time behind bars related to the Jinnah House arson case.
Ms. Raja was arrested in May 2023, accused of involvement in the burning of the Governor's House in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, during protests following the PTI's removal from power. She maintained her innocence and denied any participation in the incident
The news of her release has brought relief to her family and supporters, who have been advocating for her freedom.
