The caretaker federal government has made significant changes, granting division status to the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and transferring the operations of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the Cabinet Division.
Following approval from the caretaker prime minister, a formal notification was issued to elevate the Intelligence Bureau to division status. As per the notification, the Director General of the Intelligence Bureau will hold the additional role of Secretary of the Division. The IB Division's office is slated to be established within the Cabinet Division.
Simultaneously, the affairs of the Pakistan Cricket Board have been shifted to the Cabinet Division. This move places the PCB directly under the purview of the Prime Minister's Office, removing its accountability to the Inter-Provincial Coordination Ministry. Consequently, the Secretary of IPC will no longer serve as a member of the PCB's Board of Governors.
