Expressing her displeasure over the stopping of traffic during her travel, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has issued a directive for an immediate overhaul of traffic management systems.
Before chairing a high-level meeting at the Secretariat, Nawaz expressed her displeasure at the traffic system and emphasized the importance of prioritizing citizen welfare, instructing officials to ensure that citizens do not suffer due to traffic disruptions.

During the meeting, she held discussions with top officials, including Chief Secretary Zahid Zaman Akhtar, the planning and development chairman, and the secretaries of health and finance, among others. She was also briefed on the functions of various departments.
Maryam stressed that she would not let merit be violated, nor would she violate it herself, adding that there would be no political recruitment. She also highlighted the need for preventive measures against diseases like dengue and polio, stressing the provision of quality healthcare facilities to the public.
Committing to uphold transparency in financial matters, Nawaz declared a zero-tolerance policy towards non-transparency in such matters. She also instructed the authorities to continue projects of public utility in health and other sectors, insisting that she wanted the solution to people's problems as soon as possible. She declared the need for structural reforms and eliminating the problems by identifying their roots.

Recognizing the dedication and honesty of officers, Nawaz pledged her support to those committed to serving the people. Accountability, transparency, quality work, and timely service delivery were highlighted as 'red lines' for her.
Present at the meeting were notable figures including Pervaiz Rasheed, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Azma Bukhari, Sania Ashiq, the provincial chief secretary, Punjab Police inspector general, and secretaries from various departments.
As the chief minister continues to demonstrate her commitment to effective governance, citizens anticipate tangible improvements in traffic management and public service delivery across Punjab.
