Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, convened a crucial meeting with all Pakistani players participating in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) at a local hotel.

Addressing the players, the PCB chairman stressed the need to prioritize merit over any form of favoritism or political influence in team selection.
He underscored that the selection process would solely be based on players' performance and merit, emphasizing that every player in the hall is a potential candidate for the national team. He urged the players to put Pakistan's interests above all else and emphasized the significance of unity and cohesion among the team members.
Naqvi reiterated that financial considerations should take a backseat to national pride and team spirit. He assured the players of potential improvements in their contracts, highlighting the board's commitment to investing in the welfare and development of players.
Furthermore, the PCB chairman emphasized the importance of fitness and announced plans for a training camp at Kakul from the 25th to the 8th. He assured players of his unwavering support and open-door policy, encouraging them to reach out whenever needed.
In terms of infrastructure development, Naqvi outlined plans to enhance cricket academies and upgrade stadiums across the country. He emphasized the PCB's commitment to investing in players' facilities and welfare.
The meeting also saw the presence of Chief Selector Wahab Riaz, Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer, and other senior officials, highlighting the collective effort to steer Pakistan cricket towards excellence and success.
