The maiden cabinet meeting held in Islamabad, set the tone for Sharif's administration, stressing the urgent need for economic recovery and the curbing of inflation.
During the huddle, Mr Sharif asserted that the restoration of the nation's economy stands atop his government's agenda.
He emphasised the imperative need to clamp down on tax evasion, declaring that both tax evaders and officials aiding in tax theft would face severe consequences under his administration.
"Controlling inflation is our paramount concern," affirmed the premier, expressing disdain towards the burden of rising prices, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
He underscored the plight of the common populace grappling with inflation, juxtaposed against the backdrop of subsidies disproportionately favoring the elite.
