Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has started a special admission campaign at the beginning of the new academic year to bring back out-of-school children.
Provincial Minister of Secondary Education Faisal Tarkai said during the last ten years, during the two Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf governments in the province, health, and education were the top priorities of the provincial government, and the educational emergency were also enforced, but 4.7 million children are out of school.
Four children were admitted to schools in a ceremony to mark the launch of the new admission drive.
KP Secretary of Secondary Education Masood Khan said that the target is to bring one million children to schools in the next two months while in public schools, the necessities of life and facilities, let alone the teachers, are not complete.
“In this special admission campaign event, national songs, PT shows (physical training) were also performed to make children realize the importance of education,” he said.
