Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) vehemently on Tuesday denied allegations regarding the involvement of its ground staff in the detention case of air hostess Hina Sani at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The airline's spokesperson refuted claims linking two ground staff members to the incident, asserting that they had no connection to the matter whatsoever.
"Faiza Javed, allegedly involved in the incident, is not an employee of PIA in Canada," the spokesperson clarified, debunking any association with the accused individual.
Addressing the media, the spokesperson emphasized that the news circulating regarding the detention of PIA air hostess Hina Sani is baseless and lacks truth. "Hina Sani's detainment at Toronto airport has no correlation with PIA's operations or staff members," they affirmed, dispelling any rumors of the airline's involvement.
Furthermore, PIA announced its intention to pursue legal action, expressing its readiness to litigate and file a defamation claim in Canada. "The airline reserves its right to defend its reputation and integrity against false accusations," the spokesperson asserted firmly.
Earlier reports had indicated that Hina Sani, a PIA air hostess posted on flight PK-789 from Lahore to Toronto, was detained after passports belonging to unrelated individuals were allegedly discovered in her possession. Sources revealed concerns over her conduct, citing a previous warning for purportedly smuggling contraband into Canada.
