President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and prosperity of the country.
Addressing the public gathering in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on the occasion of the 45th death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, President Zardari said: "Today Benazir Bhutto is talking in history. Benazir Bhutto, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, among others, embraced martyrdom."
"It is not written in our fate that we are poor countries. The higher Power has blessed the country with all kinds of wealth.," the president stated.
President Zardari said: "Some of the people had harmed the country, due to which we as a country bear the brunt."

"The only thing we lack is that we don't use our mind," he added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari proposed that all politicians should pay attention to the "charter of reconciliation".
Addressing the public gathering on the occasion of the 45th death anniversary of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bhutto-Zardari said, "Today we are commemorating the 45th anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto."
He lavished his praise on Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, saying, "Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave Pakistan its constitution, empowered the people with the vote, made the country a nuclear power".
Bhutto-Zardari said: "We are managing two provincial governments in the elections through the hard work of the workers. Our two chief ministers have been elected, the Senate chairman has been elected."
"We have made history by making Asif Ali Zardari the president for the second time, and we have acted on the slogans of bread, clothing, and shelter through the BISP," the former foreign minister added.
He said: "President Zardari strengthened the country through a charter of democracy. Even now, some forces do not believe in democracy, and President Asif Zardari made all conspiracies unsuccessful".
