Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Wednesday that Pakistan was taking the necessary steps to ensure border management with Iran.
Iranian Ambassador Dr Reza Amiri Moghadam called on Asif in Islamabad. On this occasion, Asif said: "Pakistan and Iran enjoy brotherly relations on the basis of religious and cultural similarities."
Moghadam said: “There is a possibility to extend the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of the defence and power sectors".
Sources divulged that during the meeting, matters in line with the visit of the Iranian president to Pakistan were also discussed.

Few days back, Asif pointed fingers at Afghanistan, asserting that the source of terrorism lies across the border.
Amid escalating tensions, Asif emphasised the urgent need for a paradigm shift in the border dynamics between the two countries.
