The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had announced nationwide protests on Friday (April 26) following the results of the by-elections that happened on Sunday.
Addressing the press conference in Islamabad, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to probe "election irregularities."
"What happened on April 21 is because of the nexus of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Punjab government," he said.
Meanwhile, denouncing the by-poll results, Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Hamid Khan said: "We will not let the government resort to the tactics of hooliganism during our protest movement against the elections."
"The case should be registered against the electoral watchdog and Punjab government," Khan said.
– No tussle with institutions –
Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Monday conveyed a message from the PTI founder , urging a harmonious ties with institutions.
Addressing a presser in Peshawar, He underscored the sacrifices made by the people of KP and stressed the need for respectful discourse in addressing such issues.
