Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday vowed to increase the representation of women in the police force.
Addressing the passing-out parade at Chung Police Training Centre, while wearing a police uniform, CM Maryam said: "Nearly 7,000 women officers are rendering their service in Punjab police. It had always made me happy to see the representation of women in the police force."
"Today, while putting up the police uniform, I realised that it was a matter of great responsibility to render the service," said CM Maryam.
"It is a matter of pride that the women are rendering their service in the police force," said CM Maryam.
Speaking about the rule of law, the chief minister said: "It is important to bring the oppressors to justice."
CM Maryam said, "It is important to uphold the system of justice in society. When there is no rule of law in society, it declines."
"I do not want to indulge in vendetta," said the chief minister.
