– Islamabad High Court stops police from arresting Marwat –
Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had granted protective bail to PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat in a case registered in Kasur.
Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri presided over the hearing, issuing directives to the Punjab Police against arresting Marwat.
The PTI firebrand was granted bail for a period of two weeks in exchange for surety bond of Rs10,000. Additionally, the court directed Marwat to appear before the court concerned within the stipulated two-week timeframe.
Justice Jahangiri expressed concern over the multiple charges faced by Marwat, remarking that it seemed as though he had been embroiled in legal issues across various areas. "Sher Afzal Marwat sahab, is there any area left where you don't have a case against you?" the judge asked.
Responding to the court's queries, Marwat said he was being booked across the country. He highlighted that the case in question was registered by police when he held a rally in Kasur.
