Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique said on Saturday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) can fulfil its wish to hold negotiations with the military leadership directly.
Addressing an event in Lahore, Rafique reacted to PTI leader Shehryar Afridi's statement. "The KP should cooperate with the centre by remaining within the constitutional limits. If Ali Amin Gandapur continues aggression, then it would be hard to fight and continue to rule at the same time."
"The PTI had talked about attacks on many accounts, which led to May 9 mayhem all of a sudden. There is no concept of vandalism in democratic politics," he maintained.
He stressed the need for dialogues between the political leaders, Rafique said: "Not holding talks with the politicians had led to May 9 vandalism."
Speaking about former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said, "Everyone wants former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to spearhead the party.
"Now there is no constitutional obstacle for Nawaz Sharif to become the party president. Nawaz Sharif has been requested to take charge as the party president," he said.
Rafique said, "I have talked with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in line with my fake audio."
"I have come to hear about the media reports regarding my appointment as the party's secretary. Ahsan Iqbal is doing a good job as the party secretary," he said.
