Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan in the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) Summit, slated to happen in Gambia on May 2.
According to the details, Dar will attend the OIC meeting in the capital of Gamibia, Punggol. "The OIC summit is being summoned at the time when the war against the Palestinians continues unabated," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) spokesperson.
This will be the key occasion for the OIC to present a strong, joint, and unanimous narrative on Palestine.
Dar will address ongoing genocide in Gaza and raise the issue of the self-determination rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the conference.
He will present the country's perspective on Islamophobia, highlighting the imperative of unity and solidarity within the Islamic world as the need of the hour, said the spokesperson.
The deputy premier will emphasise the need to address climate change, terrorism, and other contemporary global challenges, advocating for social solutions to the challenges facing the Islamic world, as stated by the spokesperson.
Dar will also hold bilateral meetings with fellow leaders and foreign ministers during the summit, a spokesperson added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed on Sunday Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as the deputy prime minister of Pakistan.
The appointment was confirmed through a notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
