– Motorway to be built from Islamabad to Gilgit, Skardu: Aleem Khan –
Few days back, Aleem Khan said that the completion of the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway was his priority, while a motorway would be established from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu.
Addressing the passing-out parade of patrol officers at the National Highways and Motorway Training College in Sheikhupura, the minister said that after taking oath of office, he tried to set two or three priorities, one of which was the completion of the motorway from Sukkur to Hyderabad.
He further said that the government wanted to build a motorway for the northern regions as well, adding that it wanted to build a motorway from Islamabad to Gilgit and Skardu. The completion of the motorway will be a game changer for the region, he exclaimed.
Aleem Khan said that those who worked for the motorway also deserved tribute, as no one ever complained that an officer of the Motorway Police asked for bribe. The Motorway Police have made the nation proud, he said, adding that no one has ever tried to bribe an official. It is hoped that this tradition can be extended to other institutions as well, he remarked.
