Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal stressed on Saturday the need for elevating the livestock sector.
Expressing his thoughts in Islamabad, Iqbal acknowledged the role of the veterinary sciences in contributing to the country's development. "We are looking forward to addressing the problems faced by the veterinary students," he added.
He hailed the livestock sectors of New Zealand and Norway. "Why are our dairy and poultry products matching the quality standards of countries like New Zealand and Norway?"
"By increasing production, we can uplift the poultry, dairy, and agricultural sectors," he said.
Iqbal maintained: "The Higher Education Commission has been asked to bring out the performance audit of the educational institutions."

Few days back, Iqbal vowed to complete the provincial projects through the sharing formula.
According to details, Iqbal chaired a meeting during which the ongoing and new projects of the National Highway Authority in line with the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) were discussed. On this occasion, Iqbal stressed the need for completing the pending projects by removing any obstacles.
Iqbal had also urged the need to complete the ongoing projects in Balochistan under the PSDP.
