T20 World Cup 2024 schedule
Pakistan's campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 is slated to commence on June 6 in the United States, where they will lock horns with formidable opponents in Group A, including arch-rivals India, Ireland, Canada, and co-hosts United States.
However, before setting foot in the grand event, the Green Shirts are scheduled for a riveting T20I series against Ireland, with the team set to depart for the European nation tomorrow.
Following the Ireland series, Pakistan will traverse to England for another series of four T20Is, building momentum for their World Cup campaign.
As per the latest updates, the 18-player squad initially announced for the Ireland and England T20Is will be trimmed down to 15 players for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after the first T20I against England on May 22.
The deadline for squad submission, initially set for May 1, has been extended till May 25, providing teams with the flexibility to make necessary adjustments, subject to approval from the event’s technical committee.
With the tournament format pitting 20 qualifying teams into four groups of five, the quest for supremacy intensifies as only the top two teams from each group will progress to the Super 8 round. From there, the journey to the pinnacle will culminate in the final showdown on June 29, as teams vie for cricketing glory.
