Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamir Farooq on Monday took action against individuals involved in a negative social media campaign targeting Justice Babar Sattar.
This move comes in response to a letter penned by Justice Babar Sattar to Chief Justice Aamir Farooq, outlining concerns regarding the malicious campaign.
The letter, which prompted Chief Justice Aamir Farooq's decision to initiate contempt of court proceedings, sheds light on the gravity of the situation.
Allegations stemming from the campaign, particularly regarding Justice Babar Sattar's citizenship status, have necessitated swift judicial action.
Sources close to the Islamabad High Court revealed that the contempt of court proceedings will commence following the assignment of a diary number to Justice Sattar's letter on Tuesday.
Subsequently, a bench will be constituted to oversee the case and ensure fair proceedings.
The social media campaign, which has gained traction with its baseless accusations against Justice Babar Sattar, has drawn condemnation from the Islamabad High Court.
In a statement issued earlier, the court vehemently denied the allegations, affirming its commitment to upholding the principles of justice and integrity.
