Amidst the ongoing fallout from the explosive 'Dubai Unlocked' report, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday defended the property holdings of his wife in Dubai.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Naqvi pushing back against allegations of impropriety "I will invest wherever I want."
"If anyone has taken the property illegally, then speak against him," he added.
The minister went on to detail the timeline of his wife's property acquisitions, emphasizing that the investments were made well before his tenure in any executive office.
"My wife bought a property in Dubai in 2017. At that time, I was not in any executive office. She also has property in London," he clarified.
Mohsin Naqvi added "Doing business in the country has been abused, but it is not a crime to legally invest abroad. All the properties are there in the Election Commission's declarations. They are making the earnings of the whole life illegal."
Responding to criticisms regarding his absence during discussions on the law and order situation in Azad Kashmir, Naqvi cited constitutional limitations, stating, "After the 8th Amendment, the provinces resolve the law and order situation in the provinces themselves, but the federal government only supports them. They could not take any decision by going to Azad Kashmir."
