The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) Central Working Committee (CWC) has unanimously nominated Prime Minsiter Shehbaz Sharif as the acting president of the party on Saturday.
According to details, the premier will serve as acting president until the party elections. An election commission had been set up to organise the PML-N's presidential election on May 28.
Rana Sanaullah had been appointed as the chief election commissioner for the appointment of the party's president.
Earlier today it was reported the PML-N's central working committee will hold a meeting today (Saturday) to pick up the party's acting president.

Separately, last month in April, PML-N senior leader Hamza Shehbaz said that his party wants to see stability in the country.
Expressing his thoughts, the former Punjab chief minister said: "We want to see the emergence of the country as an economic power. Staging politics is all about serving the masses."
He hoped that the PML-N-led government would deliver in the future.
Hamza expressed reservation over the terrorism incidents.
"With the blessings of the Higher Power, the menace of terrorism will be ended and the nation will emerge victorious," he added.
