United States Ambassador Donald Blome on Thursday the need for further boosting ties with Pakistan.
According to the details, Blome visited Chaukhandi graveyard in Karachi. On this occasion, Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah warmly greeted Donald Blome and fellow delegates during their visit.
Among the delegation accompanying the American ambassador, Acting Consul General Jimmy Mauldin, Heather Murphy, Zahra Hajiani, and Narendra Kumar explored the historic tombs of Chaukhandi Graveyard.
Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah shared insights with the American ambassador, highlighting the rich historical significance of Chaukhandi cemetery.
Blome acknowledged the remarkable architectural layout and craftsmanship displayed in the Chaukhandi tombs. He assured to facilitate the Pakistani tourists in terms of visas.
He vowed to highlight the historical spots in the country in line with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (Unesco).
Meanwhile, Shah said: "The Sindh government is taking steps to provide all sorts of facilities to the tourists."
– US resolves to extend support to Pakistan for reducing methane gas –
Earlier this month, the US resolved to extend support to Pakistan for reducing methane gas.
Addressing an event in line with the USAID Climate Financing, US Ambassador Blome said: "We are making all-out efforts to reduce the emission of methane gas in dairy farming. In Pakistan, this project will be presented to the Green Climate Fund for financing."
"Efforts are underway to lower the temperature by 1 degree Celsius at the international level until 2030. The partnership with Pakistan is underway in line with the US-Pakistan Green Alliance," said Blome.
"The problems can only be addressed by providing the stakeholders with financial and technical resources," he added.
Federal Secretary Dr Fakhre Alam said: "It is the topmost priority of the government to uplift the livestock sector. The environmental challenges can be overcome by increasing production capabilities in the field of dairy farming."
