– Pesco agrees to reduce loadshedding in KP after Gandapur’s ultimatum –
Separately, few days back, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's ultimatum to the federal government had led to a breakthrough in reducing electricity loadshedding in KP.
Following a meeting with Pesco officials, a new schedule had been agreed upon, reducing loadshedding from 22 hours to 18 hours and 18 hours to 14 hours.
The Chief Minister had given a deadline to the federal government to address the issue, warning that he would take over the grid station if the problem persisted.
However, after Pesco's assurances, the matter has been resolved, and a new schedule will be implemented soon.
After the agreement, Ali Amin Gandapur emphasised that the provincial government is willing to work with the federal government to resolve electricity-related issues but stressed that immediate relief for the people of KP is essential.
He criticized the federal government for increasing electricity prices from Rs. 16 to Rs. 65 per unit without ensuring a stable power supply.
