The Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD) had warned against the severe heatwave in parts of the country on Sunday.
According to details, the temperature is expected to soar up to 50 degrees Celsius in some areas. The PMD had warned that most parts of the country would experience extreme heat, with temperatures higher than usual.
Daytime temperatures in Islamabad are expected to reach 44 degrees Celsius, while Karachi will experience temperatures up to 38 degrees Celsius.
The heatwave is expected to be most severe in Dadu and Mohenjodaro, where temperatures may reach 50 degrees Celsius or more.
Meanwhile, to combat the heatwave, the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) had established a heatstroke surveillance centre.
Speaking to Samaa TV, PIMS Executive Director Dr Imran Rana advised people to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight, and use umbrellas when going outside.
The surveillance centre will provide 24-hour services, including emergency rooms and separate rooms for heatstroke patients.
Dr Rana had also warned of the dangers of heatstroke and urged people to take precautions to stay safe during the heatwave.
