Lahore Police on Sunday arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in connection with 8 additional cases.
The arrest took place at Adiala Jail, where Qureshi is currently being held, about incidents that occurred on May 9, and cipher case.
In this regard, a Lahore Police team arrived at the jail to arrest Qureshi and record his statement,and the investigation team sought permission to transfer Qureshi to Lahore for further questioning, but the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore denied the request due to security concerns.
Instead, the court granted a 3-day remand and allowed the police to interrogate Qureshi at Adiala Jail.
He will appear in the Anti-Terrorism Court via video link once the remand is completed.
