MNA Zartaj Gul has been appointed as the parliamentary leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council in the National Assembly, a notification issued by the National Assembly Secretariat confirmed.
The Sunni Ittehad Council had submitted her nomination papers to Speaker Ayaz Sadiq on June 21, which were subsequently approved by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan.
Earlier, the PTI had proposed four names for the parliamentary leader position, including Zartaj Gul, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, Zain Qureshi, and Ahmed Chattha.
However, Zartaj Gul's nomination was finally approved, solidifying her position as the parliamentary leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council in the lower house.
