The oppressive weather has made daily life challenging, with temperatures expected to reach a scorching 43 degrees Celsius today, although the current temperature stands at 30 degrees Celsius.
Adding to the residents' woes, the city is experiencing significant load shedding, with power outages lasting between six and eight hours in areas such as Shadbagh, Amir Road, Amir Town, and Saddar.

The frequent blackouts have exacerbated the discomfort caused by the extreme heat, leading to widespread frustration and unrest among the populace.
In response to the persistent power cuts, members of Jamaat-e-Islami took to the streets in protest. Demonstrators expressed their anger and demanded immediate action from authorities to address the load shedding issues that have disrupted daily life and added to the chaos in the city.
The forecast of rain brings a glimmer of hope for Lahoris, who have been yearning for a break from the relentless heat. The anticipated showers are expected to provide temporary relief and help alleviate the intense conditions gripping the city.

On Friday, the Met Department said the monsoon season in the country is expected to commence from July 3 onwards. Chief Meteorologist Shahid Abbas highlighted that the monsoon rains will not only bring relief from the intense heat but also lower the overall temperature across the region.
Currently, the country is experiencing a mix of cloudy and sunny weather throughout the day, a pattern expected to persist in the coming days.
