Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled a comprehensive plan to improve services provider sector and safety across the province.
During a recent meeting with a delegation from an online cab service provider, Maryam Nawaz emphasized the need for improved regulations and integration of technology to benefit both service providers and users.
In her directive, Nawaz called for the introduction of new rules aimed at enhancing the quality of services in the ride-hailing sector. One of the key proposals discussed was the connection of the Women Safety App with online ride-hailing companies. This initiative aims to provide better safety and security for female riders by leveraging technology.
The chief minister also discussed the proposals for creating better employment opportunities, particularly for the youth and women. She directed to ensure that safety gear is used by bike riders in all circumstances to enhance their safety on the roads.
The meeting also discussed providing better transportation facilities to people through information technology.
In addition to these measures, Maryam Nawaz highlighted the expansion of the free Wi-Fi project beyond Lahore and Kasur. The initiative aims to make internet access more readily available, which will, in turn, facilitate easier access to online transportation services for citizens, especially women.
Nawaz affirmed that the Punjab government is committed to supporting initiatives that promote business activity and generate employment opportunities. "We will encourage every initiative that will lead to business activity and create employment," she stated.
