Internet users across Pakistan faced significant connectivity issues on Wednesday due to a widespread service disruption.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), a technical glitch has slowed internet services, causing problems for users in cities like Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
They claimed that the service has been disrupted due to a glitch in the international submarine cable.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) network is experiencing data outages in several cities, confirmed by a spokesperson. "Currently, the PTCL network is facing data outages in various cities, affecting connectivity," the spokesperson said.
PTCL teams are actively working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. "Our teams are busy addressing and rectifying the issue at the earliest," the spokesperson added.
Users have reported difficulties in accessing online services, with slow internet speeds hampering both personal and professional activities. PTCL has assured customers that efforts are underway to restore full service and minimize the inconvenience caused by this outage.
The disruption has also affected data service of mobile phone companies, due to which WhatsApp and other social media platforms are also not working properly. Consumers are facing serious problems accessing these apps.
