Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, the former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), will be punished according to the Army Act.
Reacting to the custody of Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed by military, he said that the former DG ISI is being court-martialed under provisions of Pakistan Army Act.
He highlighted that this move demonstrates the Pakistan Army’s commitment to accountability within its ranks, reinforcing the principle that no one is above the law.
Rana Sanaullah further pointed out that this action proves that even high-ranking officials are not exempt from scrutiny and punishment if found guilty.
He mentioned that Faiz Hameed has been implicated in various allegations, including being behind the events of May 9 and other significant incidents.
The PML-N leader also suggested that Faiz Hameed’s influence might have played a role in the PTI’s strategies.
