Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has apologised to the nation for extending the tenure of former Army Chief General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Speaking on the Samaa TV program ‘Nadeem Malik Live,’ he expressed regret over the extension, acknowledging it as a significant mistake.
“I apologise to the nation for the decision to grant an extension to General Bajwa. It was a mistake that we deeply regret,” said Qaiser, reflecting on the political implications of the move.
The PTI leader admitted that giving an extension to General Bajwa was a “big mistake” that backfired on the party. He acknowledged that the decision hurt the party’s image and apologised for the error.
He also hinted at peaceful protests if PTI founder, Imran Khan’s, case is referred to a military court. He further hinted at taking the matter to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), suggesting that international legal avenues could be explored if the case is handled by a military tribunal.
Asad Qaiser expressed his disapproval of extending the tenure of Supreme Court Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, stating that it was not acceptable.
