Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday made it clear that no city should sell roti above the regulated price and has emphasised the need to provide flour at controlled rates throughout the province.
According to details, this directive was issued during a special meeting on price control held in Lahore, where she received a detailed briefing on the rates of essential commodities. Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the cost of essential food items in Punjab is the lowest compared to other provinces.
CM Maryam had expressed satisfaction with the province's price control measures and praised the administrative efforts in managing these rates.
She had directed that roti must be sold at the established price across the province. The meeting also included a detailed review of food prices in each district, with specific attention given to the rates of roti and flour.

Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that the Punjab government decided to establish the Parks and Horticulture Authorities (PHA) in every district.
According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a meeting in line with administrative matters. On this occasion, CM Maryam urged the authorities to focus more on the beautification of the cities across the province.
She stressed the need for planting more trees and ensuring the functioning of the street lights across the province.
The Punjab chief minister had urged the need to ensure the cleanliness of every nook and cranny in both rural and urban areas.
“The masses should witness the major difference in terms of cleanliness and other matters,” she said.
The Rahim Yar Khan deputy commissioner had apprised CM Maryam of the artificial intelligence (AI) software for reviewing the implementation of the "KPI.”
