President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday called for bolstering the strategic cooperation with China in the bilateral interests.
According to details, Commander of Ground Forces of the People's Liberation Army of China, General Li Qiaoming, called on President Zardari in Islamabad. The president underscored the importance of historical ties with China, saying, "Both the countries share the historical ties based on seven decades.".
The president expressed his unwavering commitment to stand by China, stressing the importance of boosting ties in the military and defense cooperation. He also urged the need for boosting the cultural ties and masses' connection."
Underscoring the importance of learning the Chinese language, President Zardari said: "The Chinese language will help bring the people of the two countries even closer."
"During my previous tenure as the present, I came with the vision of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The common enemies of China and Pakistan do not want to see that the ties between the two countries further boost," he added.
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, Li Qiaoming said: "Both the countries will have to work for the sake of ending the menace of terrorism."
Li Qiaoming had also condemned the terrorists that transpired in Pakistan yesterday. He condoled with Pakistan over the loss of precious human lives.
The president conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz on Li Qiaoming.
