Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that the people were getting relief on the power bills on the advice of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), CM Maryam said: "Thanks be to the Higher Power, the masses are getting relief on the electricity bills on the advice and wish of Nawaz Sharif."
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori wrote a letter to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and urged on the pattern of Punjab, steps should be taken to give relief to the people on electricity bills in Sindh as well.
– Azma Bokhari asks PPP to acknowledge relief for Punjab –
Separately on Sunday, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari asked the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to acknowledge the relief for the masses of Punjab.
Expressing her thoughts, Bokhari said: "The PPP is holding talks with the Punjab government on one side. On the other side of the wall, the PPP is speaking against the relief given to the people of Punjab."
She acknowledged Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's role, saying, "Maryam Nawaz is investing Rs 400 billion on the roads across the province. She is also looking to ensure the reduction of the electricity bills."
"Maryam Nawaz is also providing Rs1.5 million in loans to the people for the construction of the houses," Bokhari said.
"The hospitals are being established, and medicines are available in the province," Bokhari said.
She lamented: "It is out of my understanding that those who are defeated cannot see the development and progress."
